Giant Pandas at the San Diego Zoo. In August 2024, the San Diego Zoo welcomed giant panda pair Xin Bao and Yun Chuan to their new home. The expansive, reimagined Panda Ridge habitat is four times larger than the previous panda habitat. The newly refreshed and expanded habitat takes inspiration from the breathtaking, lush landscapes in and around the giant pandas’ native habitats in Sichuan, Gansu and Shaanxi provinces in China. Giant Panda Timed Tickets are only available on Saturdays and Sundays at the San Diego Zoo on the same day as your visit. These tickets are complimentary, limited, and first come, first served
